Gyda Newman briefly describes her father’s job with the U.S. Forest Service and when her family moved from the Swan Valley into Missoula, Montana. Bob Newman recalls when his parents purchased a home in the Swan Valley area, which he inherited after his father died. Bob describes different adventures he took with his brother and friends in the late 1930s into the 1940s around the Missoula, Flathead, and Swan Valley areas of Montana. The Newmans discuss the camping trips they took as a family and their numerous wildlife encounters. They also talk about their interactions with Swan Valley community members.
