Al Wiseman, Metis, talks about the history of the Teton Canyon. He discusses the history of Metis families living in the Teton Canyon including the LaRance, Collins, Gray and Bruno families,homesteaders on the Rocky Mtn. Front, dude ranchers including the Bakers, Durfeys, Engles, Gleasons, and Blixruds, and his life in construction beginning in the 1950s. He discusses the local contractors he worked for such as Bob and Scotty (Forest) Zion, and Irvin Moon, as well as other local builders such as Jess and George Bleeker, Burt Easton, and Foster Williams. In this discussion he reveals discrimination he experienced on the job and the admiration he felt for other Metis working in the house moving industry. He speaks of the Ranger Stations on the Front and the lime kilns, old homesteads such as Oscar Olney's (later Deep Canyon Guest Ranch), construction on the Circle 8 and Deep Canyon Guest Ranch (Cowtrack, Bleached Blonde Skull), construction of recreational cabins, and Twin Lakes.
